Özet
The effects of xanthate type collectors, which are widely used in the flotation of galena, the richest mineral in terms of lead content, on the flotation efficiency vary depending on many factors such as C-H chain lengths, C-H chain structures, collector concentration, ambient pH and conditioning time. While the collecting abilities of xanthates increase with increasing C-H chain length, their selectivity decreases. The C-H chain structure (straight, branched) is one of the features of xanthates that affect their adsorption to mineral surfaces. Another variable that directly affects flotation efficiency is the conditioning time. Even if all reagents are applied under optimum conditions, insufficient conditioning time can cause flotation efficiency to decrease. Similarly, excessive conditioning times may not only reduce flotation efficiency but also cause a decrease in concentrate grade. In the light of these findings, within the scope of the study, the effects of xanthate type collectors (SIBX and PAX) with different C-H chain length and C-H chain structure on galena flotation efficiency were determined depending on the collector concentration, at different pH and conditioning time. According to the results, it was seen that galena flotation efficiency increased as the C-H chain length increased. Increase in the conditioning time caused a decrease in the effectiveness of straight C-H chain PAX on flotation efficiency, while it increased the effect of branched C-H chain SIBX.
