Fikret Otyam’ın Resimlerinde Halk Sanatının Etkisi: Yerellik ve Evrensellik Bağlamında Bir Değerlendirme

Özet

Genç Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kültür sanat politikaları, kültür ve sanat alanında yeni bir kimlik oluşturmayı amaçlamıştır. Bu dönemde, devletin ve sanatçıların Anadolu’nun kültürel mozaiğine ve kimliğine dayanan bir Türk kimliğini sanata yansıtma çabaları dikkat çekmektedir. Hükümetler, sanatçıların Türk resminde ulusal ve yerel unsurlara yer vermesi için özel politikalar oluşturmuştur. Sanatta kimlik oluşturma tartışmaları ve çabaları uzun ömürlü olmuş, modern batı sanat akımlarının teknik ve biçemleriyle yerel ve geleneksel teknik ve biçemleri sentezleyerek özgün biçemler ortaya koyan sanatçılar ve sanatçı grupları ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu sanatçılar arasında yer alan Fikret Otyam, resimlerinde Anadolu yaşamını, doğasını ve insanını ele alırken Anadolu halkının geleneklerini ve kültürünü de resimlerine aktarmıştır. Sanatçı resimlerine yansıyan halk sanatı örneklerini sanatına aktarırken, öznel bir yorumdan ziyade nesnel ve belgeselci bir bakış açısı ile hareket etmiştir. Bu makalede, Otyam'ın halk hikâyelerini işlediği ve halk sanatı ürünlerini kompozisyonuna dâhil ettiği resimlerinden örnekler üzerinden sanatçının biçemindeki yerel ve evrensel etkiler saptanmakta ve eserler, bu açıdan çözümlenerek tartışılmaktadır. ABSTRACT Cultural policies of Young Republic of Turkey aimed to build a new kind artistical and cultural identity. Both the state and artists of this period are remarkable for the effort to reflect a Turkish identity, which based on cultural range, diversity and identity of Anatolia, into artistic productions. Therefore goverments made specific policies for artists to involve national and local elements into their arts. The discussions and efforts on building this new artistic identity have been continued for decades. In this period artists and groups created their authentic styles and own artistic languages through synthesizing local and traditional techniques of Anatolian folk arts and crafts with various techniques and styles borrowed from modern western art movements and art forms, in their art works. As being one of those artists, Fikret Otyam had succesfully reflected, Anatolian life, nature and people in their authenticity, and conveyed their own traditions and culture to his paintings. His works objectively reflect the examples of folk arts and crafts through the eyes of a documentarist rather than to present a subjective interpretation of them. The present article puts a discussion on the examples of Fikret Otyam's paintings which depict folk tales and arts and crafts, to detect influences of folk art in his paintings, through making analyses of the synthesis of the local and universal elements, styles and techniques.
