Özet
This work aims to examine the effects of various level density models (LDs) and alpha optical model potentials (AOs) on the cross-section calculations of the natIr(α,x) reactions for the formation of the isotopes 191–196Au. It also assesses the effects on the accuracy and reliability of the LDs and AO combinations for cross-section predictions. The results of these calculations were compared with the experimental data from literature to define the most compatible set of LDs and AOs for the investigated reactions. To this end, a mean-weighted deviation analysis calculation was used in the study. The results clearly show that predicted cross sections agree significantly better with experimental values by the strategic combination of appropriate LDs and AOs. Therefore, the method lets scientists maximize model selection for improved predictive capacity in cross-section calculations for the investigated natIr(α,x)191–196Au nuclear reactions.
