Abstract

The reduced shell model calculations have been done for the odd-odd Sb-106 and Sb-108 isotopes. The model space has been chosen as 1d(5/2), 0g(7/2), 1d(3/2), 2s(1/2), for the reduced calculations and included 0h(11/2) for the full calculations. The reduced shell model calculations of Sb-108 isotope are presented for the first time. The calculated energy spectra are compared to the experimental results to understand which model space is the best for the shell model calculations around N = Z = 50 region of the periodic table. This is the extention of the study that whether the reduced shell model calculations arc capable of reproducing the experimental results for the nuclei whose shell model calculations can be carried out in the full model space.
