Evaluation of the Prevalence of Cinderella Syndrome and Affecting Factors in Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences: A Cross-Sectional Study

Özet
Cinderella Syndrome assumes paramount significance in the context of gender inequality, as it can potentially curtail women's self-realization and independence. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of the Cinderella Syndrome and the factors that influence it among students pursuing their studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences. In total, 446 students participated in this cross-sectional analytical study. Data were collected using the “Descriptive Characteristics Form” and “Cinderella Syndrome Scale.” These findings suggest that the Cinderella Syndrome levels among the participants were relatively low. Moreover, previous romantic relationships and marital status were identified as significant variables influencing Cinderella Syndrome. Specifically, this study concluded that individuals who have not experienced romantic relationships tend to exhibit higher levels of Cinderella Syndrome. This study demonstrated the importance of developing student nurses' awareness of gender roles before graduation.
