Özet
Constructive journalism has emerged as a key area of focus in efforts to redefine conventional notions of newsworthiness. By emphasizing solution-oriented reporting and highlighting the positive dimensions of events, this journalistic approach is anticipated to have a beneficial impact on audiences. This study examined the effect of the value attributed to constructive journalism on individuals’ prosocial behavioral tendencies, while also exploring the mediating role of media system dependency in this relationship. A survey was administered to 399 participants, and the data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicated a positive and statistically significant relationship between the value attributed to constructive journalism and prosocial behavior. Additionally, a significant positive association was found between the value placed on constructive journalism and media system dependency. However, the indirect effect of constructive journalism on prosocial behavior through media system dependency was found to be statistically insignificant.
