Özet
Assessing the structural performance of concrete is vital for monitoring structures
and planning interventions, especially after earthquakes. Accurately determining
concrete strength ensures safety and cost- effective maintenance. Mechanical
properties such as compressive strength, elasticity, and porosity are measured by
destructive, semi- destructive, and non- destructive testing (NDT). Destructive testing
provides reliable results but can damage the structure and is costly. NDT methods
are faster and less invasive but provide estimated values. To improve accuracy, they
must be calibrated with selective destructive, semi- destructive or non- destructive
testing. Combined assessment methods, such as the SonReb (ultrasonic and rebound
hammer) method, which combines both techniques, increase reliability. Integrating
destructive and NDT approaches allows for safer, more economical assessments
and better- informed engineering decisions.
