Özet

This study aimed to investigate the views of supervisors and counsellor candidates (CCs) on multiculturalism within counselling supervision. The research was designed as an embedded single case within the framework of case study patterns. Data were collected through individual and group interviews from 42 CCs and seven supervisors across seven universities in Türkiye. Findings from the research were categorised into three main groups: the role of culture, the supervision process, and evaluation. Participants touched upon the importance of multiculturalism in counselling supervision and provided definitions of multiculturalism. Findings related to the supervision process revealed that cultural elements were neglected in the supervision sessions in Türkiye. The findings also outlined participants’ perspectives on the reasons behind the insufficient attention given to cultural elements in supervision. Lastly, participants evaluated the supervision processes in Türkiye within the context of multiculturalism and shared their suggestions regarding the development of multiculturalism in supervision.
