Özet

This study investigated ceiling height, area per person, desk size, and separator height as office layout factors in relation to thermal plumes around the occupants. Experimental sessions involving twelve seated participants engaged in typing activities for sixty-minute were conducted. The experimental room was modeled in a CFD environment using the collected thermal data. After validation, new layout factor-level combination models were created using L9 orthogonal array design. Thermal comfort levels inside the thermal plumes of the seated manikins were computed for each combination model. According to the results, the thermal comfort condition was optimized when the ceiling height was 3.5 m, area per person was 6.5m2, desk size was 1.6 m, and separator height was 0.6 m. The study showed that all of the investigated layout factors were statistically significant, with ceiling height and area per person being key contributors to the thermal comfort.
