Özet

Objectives: The purpose of the current study is to examine the maternal gatekeeping of mothers in the context of parental self-efficacy and attachment styles. Materials and Methods: In this context, 315 married mothers with children between the ages of 5 and 18, who volunteered to participate in the study, constitute the study group. Results: The findings of the study showed that parental self-efficacy and secure attachment positively and significantly predicted the encouragement sub-dimension, that anxious and avoidant attachment styles positively and significantly predicted the control sub-dimension, and that parental self-efficacy and secure attachment negatively and significantly predicted the discouragement sub-dimension. Conclusion: Results of the study revealed that the mother’s parenting self-efficacy and attachment styles are important predictors of the sub-dimensions of maternal gatekeeping.
