Özet

Many devastating earthquakes have occurred in the world until today. On 02.06.2023, Kahramanmaras (Pazarcik) and Kahramanmaras (Elbistan) earthquakes occurred. These successive earthquakes had devastating effects in 11 provinces of Turkey (Kahramanmaras, Hatay, Adana, Adıyaman, Kilis, Şanlıurfa, Osmaniye, Elazig, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Malatya). Many structures have been damaged, destroyed, loss of life and property has occurred. It has been seen that many industrial structures have been damaged. There was also a great deal of loss of life and property in the Kocaeli earthquake on 08.19.1999. It was determined that many tank structures were damaged in the Kocaeli earthquake. Some of these earthquakes occur in the regions where the industrial facilities are located. The damages that may occur in industrial facilities where structures such as tanks and cooling towers are located during the earthquake are very important in terms of loss of life and property. In this study, the tank structures were designed at different heights and diameters, and the behavior of the tanks under the influence of the earthquake was examined in cases of liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and liquid natural gas in tanks. Tanks were modeled as shell with finite element method and liquids were simulated using mass-spring method. The analysis were performed with time history method by applying Kahramanmaras (Pazarcık), Kahramanmaras (Elbistan) Earthuake and 15 earthquake ground motion records occurred in the world to the nine tank structures. The base shear force and displacement values obtained from the analysis results were compared. Probability analyses were performed according to the displacement values obtained using the time history analysis method. The fragility curves obtained were compared.
