Özet
Sleep quality is affected by mattress
components, mainly thermal comfort management ability of the microclimate
border layers. Knitted quilted mattress ticking fabrics made of polyester,
polypropylene, viscose, lyocell, wool and their blends combined with polyester
mid-layer were investigated for their effects on thermal comfort of the bed
microclimate. For this aim water vapor, liquid absorption and transfer tests
and microclimate measurements on the simulated bed microclimate were carried
out. Results showed that lyocell viscose and its blend with linen have better
breathability, liquid absorption and transfer characteristics and can be
suggested for better sweat management within the bed microclimate system.
