Özet

Aim: Extracorporeal circulation (ECC) of blood during cardiopulmonary surgery has been shown to stimulate various pro-inflammatory molecules such as cytokines and chemokines. The biochemical oxidation/reduction pathways of alpha-lipoic acid suggest that it may have antioxidant properties.
